Day 1 | Saturday, March 21

ARRIVE AMMAN

*Independent arrival at the Amman Airport
Welcome to Amman, the vibrant capital of Jordan! As you step into Jordan, the land of ancient wonders and modern charm, meet our airport representative who will assist through immigration. Proceed to meet our private group transfer and local guide who will accompany the group for the duration of the tour. Transfer to our hotel for check-in and a well-deserved rest after the long flight.

Note: This is a land only tour, however, Broad Escapes will suggest a designated flight from Toronto. The group transfer will be based on the recommended group flight arrival time. Day 2 | Sunday, March 22 (B/L/D)

AMMAN – JERASH – AMMAN

Today, we’ll journey to Jerash, home to some of the world’s most impressive Roman and Byzantine ruins. As you wander through its colonnaded streets, public squares, and hilltop temples, you’ll step back in time to the grandeur of ancient Jordan. In the afternoon, the medieval fortress of Ajlun Castle beckons with its well-preserved chambers, winding passages, and sweeping valley vistas. The day concludes with a warm welcome dinner among fellow BE travellers.

Day 3 | Monday, March 23 (B/L/D)

AMMAN

Our journey of discovery continues in the vibrant heart of Jordan, Amman. This city is a captivating tapestry of history and culture waiting to be explored. We’ll start the day by marveling at the ancient Citadel and the perfectly preserved Roman Theatre—a testament to the city’s storied past. Experience daily Jordanian life during a walking tour through the bustling souq and colourful downtown markets. In the afternoon, we’ll take you to a women’s cooperative for a delightful lunch followed by a traditional crafting workshop to learn the techniques of time-honored craftsmanship past on through generations.

Day 4 | Tuesday, March 24 (B/L/D)

AMMAN – MOUNT NEBO – MADABA – PETRA

Our road to Petra unfolds along the Kings Highway, a journey of captivating beauty. Pause at the sacred site of Mount Nebo, where Moses once stood, offering panoramic views of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea—the Promised Land. Then, explore the “City of Mosaics,” Madaba, with its archaeological wonders. Further along the Kings Highway, discover the artistry of Bani Hamida and enjoy a photo stop at the breathtaking Mujib viewpoint. Finally, we journey to the legendary city of Petra. After dinner, experience the enchantment of Petra by Night—a candlelit path leading to the awe-inspiring Treasury.

Day 5 | Wednesday, March 25 (B/D)

PETRA

Early this morning, prepare for an unforgettable full day adventure as we explore magnificent Petra, a UNESCO Heritage site renowned for its rich history and architectural marvels. Pass through the dramatic Siq, a sandstone gorge flanked by towering cliffs, leading to the iconic Treasury, carved into rose-red cliffs. Witness the awe-inspiring architecture and natural beauty, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of an ancient civilization. After a full day of exploration on foot, we return to the main entrance by electric car then back to our hotel. Gather this evening to reminisce with fellow travellers about the incredible experiences of the day.

Day 6 | Thursday, March 26 (B/D)

PETRA – LITTLE PETRA – DANA

Begin with a guided visit to the atmospheric “Little Petra” before embarking on an adventure combining buggy rides and a moderate hike (1.5hrs) to reach the breathtaking Monastery, Petra’s largest monument perched high above the valley. The reward for your effort? Standing before one of Petra’s most magnificent monuments with views that stretch to infinity. Return to the site entrance by electric cars. Later, explore the weathered stones of Shobak Castle before arriving at the tranquil mountain retreat of Dana, where our guesthouse welcomes us with warm hospitality and a dinner of aromatic local dishes under a canopy of stars.

Day 7 | Friday, March 27 (B/L/D)

DANA – WADI RUM

Breathe in the crisp mountain air as we explore Dana’s terraced gardens and stone village pathways on our morning Village Trail Hike (Easy,1-1.5hrs), connecting villages and landscapes virtually unchanged for centuries. This afternoon, enter the realm of legends as we arrive in Wadi Rum—Lawrence of Arabia’s “vast, echoing and god-like” desert. Embark on an exhilarating jeep tour through vast sand dunes and sandstone mountains. Visit a local women’s cooperative, a unique chance to experience Jordanian culture and support Bedouin communities. As the sun sets, relax in our luxury camp and venture out for an incredible night of stargazing.

Day 8 | Saturday, March 28 (B/L/D)

WADI RUM

As the first rays of sunlight paint the landscape with warm hues, your morning begins with a camel ride led by a skilled Bedouin handler—an authentic and unique way to explore Wadi Rum. Continue your desert exploration, stopping at a Bedouin family tent where you’ll be welcomed with the legendary hospitality for which Jordan is renowned. Learn the ritual of preparing coffee—a symbol of friendship—while sharing stories and breaking bread in true Bedouin fashion. As your second evening in the desert unfolds, gather around the fire to exchange tales of your own journeys beneath the vast desert sky.

Day 9 | Sunday, March 29 (B/D)

WADI RUM – DEAD SEA

Journey from desert to the mystical waters of the Dead Sea, stopping at Bethany Beyond the Jordan where the quiet reed-lined banks belie the profound spiritual significance of this baptismal site. Later we’ll set off for the Dead Sea, our final destination—a haven for relaxation and rejuvenation. Situated 400 meters below sea level, this historical and religious site is famed as the lowest point on Earth. Rich in nourishing sediments of salt, mud, and minerals, it has been cherished for its healing properties since ancient times. Check into our seaside hotel with time to refresh before a delightful dinner.

Day 10 | Monday, March 30 (B/D)

DEAD SEA

Be inspired by the creative resilience during our morning visit to a women’s organization, where women have been empowered to learn skills to transform traditional crafts into contemporary treasures. Later, surrender to pure relaxation at Ma’in Hot Springs, where thermal waterfalls have been soothing weary travellers since Roman times. Feel the therapeutic waters wash away tension before returning to our Dead Sea sanctuary for a leisurely afternoon.

Day 11 | Tuesday, March 31 (B/D)

DEAD SEA

Today is all about you. Choose to luxuriate in the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea, indulge in a spa day at the hotel (additional cost), bask by the pool with a good book, or simply savour the services and amenities of our hotel. The day is yours to enjoy! As the sun sets on our Jordanian adventure, gather with newfound friends for a celebratory farewell dinner to toast the memories, discoveries, and connections that we’ll travel home with.

Day 12 | Wednesday, April 1 (B)

DEPARTURE

Today, we bid farewell to the enchanting land of Jordan with a private group transfer to the Amman airport. As we say our good-byes, we’ll carry not just souvenirs but transformative memories and the warm spirit of Jordan in our hearts – until the next adventure calls.

This trip is appropriate for travellers who lead an active lifestyle and have a good level of fitness.  Walking/Hiking for 3-4 hours on uneven terrain, or other moderate physical activities may be expected on this tour.  Travellers who typically walk 3-5km or participate in other physical activities at least three times a week, should not require physical preparation to join this tour.

As a courtesy to fellow travellers all Broad Escape tours are considered non-smoking in that smoking will not be permitted during group activities or on board the bus.
