Mediterranean Magic

Athens & Cycladic Islands, Tinos, Santorini, Crete

May 8-19, 2027

Imagine wandering marble-paved village lanes, sharing stories over home-cooked meals in a traditional island kitchen, sailing across turquoise waters on a private catamaran, and standing in awe beneath the Parthenon as history comes alive around you.  Our Greek Islands Escape is an exclusive Broad Escapes women's journey designed for connection, culture, and pure Mediterranean magic.

This carefully curated adventure begins in Athens, where ancient history and vibrant modern life blend effortlessly. From there, we slow the pace in the authentic Cycladic gem of Tinos, known for its marble artistry and heartfelt hospitality. We continue to iconic Santorini, where whitewashed villages tumble toward the sea, and finish in soulful Chania, where farm-to-table traditions and Cretan warmth welcome us like family.

As always, this Broad Escapes tour is limited to a maximum of just 16 women, allowing for deeper cultural experiences, meaningful local connections, and the safety, comfort, and camaraderie that define our journeys.

This is not a rushed, check-the-box itinerary. It's immersive. Personal. Joyful.  If Greece has been calling your name, now is the time to answer.

Join us for an unforgettable island escape.  With only 16 spaces available, this tour is expected to fill quickly.

Day 1 | Saturday, May 8 (L)

ARRIVE ATHENS

*Independent arrival at the Athens Airport

Upon arrival in Athens we are warmly greeted by our local guide who will be with us throughout our journey.  A private transfer brings us to our centrally located hotel. This afternoon, after a brief orientation meeting, stretch our legs on a gentle orientation walk through our neighbourhood, followed by a light welcome lunch — our first taste of fresh Mediterranean flavours.  Enjoy free time and an early evening to rest after a long day of travelling.

Overnight Philippos Hotel (or similar) – 2 nights

Note: This is a land only tour, however, Broad Escapes will suggest a designated flight from Toronto. The group transfer, orientation walk and lunch will be based on the recommended group flight arrival time.  Private transfers (additional cost) can be arranged for those arriving at a different time/date.  Flights from all gateways can be arranged through Broad Escapes.

Day 2 |  Sunday, May 9 (B/D)

ATHENS

Today we step into the heart of ancient Greece. Our guided walking tour brings history to life at the magnificent Acropolis and the stunning Acropolis Museum. As we wander among marble columns and sacred temples, we explore the architectural brilliance and mythology that shaped Western civilization. Standing before the Parthenon is a moment you’ll never forget.  The afternoon is free to explore at your own pace — perhaps browsing artisan boutiques, enjoying a café in Plaka, or discovering a hidden courtyard.  We reunite this evening for a delicious welcome dinner.

Day 3 | Monday, May 10 (B/D)

ATHENS  TINOS, CLYCLADES

After a leisurely morning, we transfer to the port of Rafina where our island journey begins.  Our ferry carries us into the heart of the Cyclades to the enchanting island of Tinos — a place of natural beauty, artistic heritage, and authentic Greek charm. Terraced hillsides, ornate Venetian dovecotes, whitewashed villages, and sparkling bays welcome us.  Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel and settle into the relaxed rhythm of island life.

Overnight Porto Rafael Hotel (or similar) – 3 nights

Day 4 | Tuesday, May 11  (B/D)

TINOS – MARBLE VILLAGE

Today we explore the soul of Tinos — its celebrated marble villages.  Wandering through Pyrgos and surrounding hamlets feels like stepping into an open-air museum. Marble fountains, intricate lintels, charming alleyways bursting with flowers — artistry is everywhere. We visit the fascinating Marble Museum of Tinos and gain insight into the island’s centuries-old sculpting tradition.  We pause for breathtaking Aegean views in hilltop villages and end our day by the sea with a relaxed dinner — and perhaps even a refreshing swim.

Day 5 | Wednesday, May 12 (B/L)

TINOS

This morning offers a truly special cultural experience.  We are welcomed into a traditional village home for a hands-on cooking class featuring authentic Tinian recipes. Using fresh local ingredients, we learn techniques passed down through generations while sharing stories, laughter, and warm Greek hospitality.  After enjoying the fruits of our labour together, we visit Tinos Town where you'll have free time to browse boutiques, stroll the waterfront, or relax in a seaside café.

Day 6 | Thursday, May 13 (B/D)

TINOS – SANTORINI

Today we ferry to iconic Santorini, known for its dramatic cliffs, whitewashed villages, and unforgettable sunsets.  Upon arrival we visit the remarkable archaeological site of Akrotiri, a prehistoric settlement preserved beneath volcanic ash — often compared to Pompeii. Walking through this ancient city offers fascinating insight into early Aegean civilization.  This evening we dine in vibrant Fira, overlooking the caldera as the sky turns shades of gold and rose.

Overnight Tzekos Villas (or similar) – 2 nights

Day 7 | Friday, May 14 (B/T)

SANTORINI

Our day begins in postcard-perfect Oia, famous for its blue-domed churches and cascading white buildings. Enjoy free time to explore charming lanes, photograph breathtaking views, and perhaps shop for unique treasures.  Later, we visit one of Santorini’s esteemed wineries. During our tasting, we sample distinctive varietals — including the indigenous Assyrtiko — while learning how volcanic soil shapes the island’s celebrated wines.  A true taste of the Aegean.  The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax by the pool or explore at your own pace.

Day 8 | Saturday, May 15 (B/D)

SANTORINI – CRETE

After a relaxed morning, we ferry to Crete, Greece's largest island.  Arriving in Heraklion, beneath the watchful presence of Mount Psiloritis, we transfer to our hotel before gathering for our first Cretan dinner. The island's cuisine — rich in olive oil, fresh produce, and mountain herbs — is renowned as one of the healthiest and most flavourful in Greece.

Overnight Olive Green Hotel (or similar) – 1 night

Day 9 | Sunday, May 16 (B/L/D)

CRETE

Today, grab your hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfortable shoes for our visit to an organic olive estate where centuries-old trees flourish. Strolling among the groves, we learn about sustainable farming practices and the art of producing exceptional olive oil, followed by a delicious farm-style lunch.  We continue west, pausing in Rethymnon to wander its charming Venetian-influenced old town before arriving in beautiful Chania. Framed by the White Mountains, a picturesque harbour, historical remains, a busy market and nearby beaches, Chania will quickly capture your heart!

Overnight Chania Crete (or similar) – 3 nights

Day 10 | Monday, May 17 (B/L)

CRETE

Today we connect deeply with Cretan rural life. Visiting local producers, we learn about traditional beekeeping and artisanal cheese-making, gaining insight into the island’s agricultural heritage.  Make cheese and traditional pilafi rice with local Shepherds followed by our farm-to-table lunch with fresh seasonal ingredients and heartfelt hospitality.  The evening is yours to enjoy Chania at leisure — perhaps a harbour stroll at sunset.

Day 11 | Tuesday, May 18 (B/L/D)

CRETE

A highlight of our journey awaits today!  We set sail on a private catamaran to the breathtaking Balos Lagoon. Turquoise waters, dramatic cliffs, and pristine sands create a postcard-perfect setting. Swim, snorkel, relax on deck, and savour a freshly prepared Mediterranean lunch onboard. It is a day of pure joy and shared celebration.  This evening we gather for our farewell dinner — reminiscing, laughing, and toasting to new friendships forged across the Greek Isles.

Day 12 | Wednesday, May 19 (B)
