Day 1 | Friday, January 23

ARRIVE BANGKOK

*Independent arrival at the Bangkok International Airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport)

Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand, “Land of Smiles” – a city where tradition and modernity blend seamlessly. Upon arrival meet our private group transfer and local representative for a transfer to our centrally located hotel. As most flights will arrive late in the evening, you’ll be free to relax and unwind at the hotel after check-in so you’re ready to explore the rich culture, dazzling temples, and bustling markets in the days ahead!

Note: This is a land only tour, however, Broad Escapes will suggest a designated flight from Toronto. The group transfer will be based on the recommended group flight arrival time. Day 2 | Saturday, January 24 (B/L/D)

BANGKOK

Immerse yourself in Thai culture as we explore some of Bangkok’s most revered sites—the magnificent Grand Palace, home to the Emerald Buddha, and Wat Pho with its impressive Reclining Buddha. Discover the vibrant Pak Klong Talad Flower Market and learn the art of traditional Thai garland-making. Cruise along Bangkok’s historic canals on a long-tail boat, viewing traditional ways of life before stopping at a century-old lychee orchard. This evening savour authentic local delicacies at our welcome dinner.

Day 3 | Sunday, January 25 (B/L/D)

BANGKOK

Step into rural Thai life with a traditional rice cultivation experience and an authentic cooking demonstration. In the afternoon, journey to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore magnificent temple ruins including Wat Chai Wattanaram’s striking Khmer-style architecture, followed by visits to the Historical Park featuring Wat Sri Sanpetch, Wat Ratburana, and Wat Mahathat—home to the famous Buddha head entwined in tree roots. These remarkably preserved ruins offer a fascinating glimpse into Thailand’s glorious past. Return to Bangkok for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 | Monday, January 26 (B/L/D)

BANGKOK – RIVER KWAI

Begin an exciting journey from Bangkok with an early visit to the unique Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors swiftly clear their stalls moments before trains pass through. Continue to the vibrant Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where we’ll navigate through colourful canals by paddle boat, witnessing local commerce in its most picturesque form. After a riverside lunch in Kanchanaburi, board a cruise along the historic River Kwai to reach our extraordinary accommodation where we’ll have time to enjoy leisure time before dinner.

Day 5 | Tuesday, January 27 (B/L/D)

RIVER KWAI

Delve into poignant World War II history with a visit to the Hellfire Pass Memorial and Museum, honoring the prisoners of war who constructed the infamous Death Railway. Experience history firsthand as we ride along the remaining tracks of this historic railway, crossing the iconic Bridge over the River Kwai. Return to our floating paradise for an evening of relaxation, surrounded by the gentle sounds of the river and nearby jungle.

Day 6 | Wednesday, January 28 (B/D)

RIVER KWAI – CHIANG RAI

Bid farewell to our floating sanctuary as we transfer to Bangkok and board a flight to Thailand’s northernmost province, Chiang Rai. Enjoy a leisurely evening to rest and prepare for the cultural adventures that await in Thailand’s enchanting northern highlands.

Day 7 | Thursday, January 29 (B/L/D)

CHIANG RAI

Journey into the mountains to discover Mae Salong, a village steeped in Chinese heritage and renowned for its spectacular tea plantations cascading down misty slopes. Sample premium locally grown teas before venturing to authentic hill tribe villages to gain insight into traditional ways of life that have remained largely unchanged for generations. Complete our culturally immersive day at the famous Golden Triangle where Thailand meets Laos and Myanmar, where we’ll explore the fascinating Opium Museum and learn about the region’s complex history.

Day 8 | Friday, January 30 (B/L/D)

CHIANG RAI – CHIANG MAI

Marvel at the artistic brilliance of Chiang Rai’s remarkable temples—the gleaming White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) with its intricate contemporary design and the striking Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten) with its sapphire interior. Journey through scenic mountain landscapes to Chiang Mai, the cultural heart of northern Thailand, where we’ll ascend to the sacred Wat Phra That Doi Suthep perched on a mountainside offering breathtaking panoramic views. Settle into our enchanting resort for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 | Saturday, January 31 (B/L/D)

CHIANG MAI

Immerse yourself in northern Thailand’s Ontai Village, known for its craftsmanship. He we’ll visit artisans for a workshop and learn about the rich artistic traditions of this region. Savour a traditional Lanna-style lunch, at the village, featuring distinctive northern Thai flavours before embarking on a fun trishaw tour through Chiang Mai’s charming Old Town.

Day 10 | Sunday, February 1 (B/L/D)

CHIANG MAI

Discover the secrets of Thai cuisine during an authentic cooking experience with a local host family. We’ll begin at a bustling market to select fresh ingredients before learning to prepare traditional dishes under expert guidance. Enjoy the fruits of our labour for lunch before free time to explore Chiang Mai at leisure. In the evening, wander through Chiang Mai’s renowned Night Market, browsing handcrafted treasures and sampling street food delicacies.

Day 11 | Monday, February 2 (B/D)

CHIANG MAI – KRABI

Trade the northern mountains for southern beaches as we fly to Krabi, home to some of Thailand’s most spectacular coastal scenery. Check into the luxurious resort, where pristine white sands and crystal-clear Andaman waters await. Spend the remainder of the day unwinding in paradise, perhaps enjoying a refreshing swim or simply relaxing with a tropical drink to watch the sunset paint the limestone karsts in golden hues.

Day 12 | Tuesday, February 3 (B/D)

KRABI

Spend the morning at leisure in this tropical paradise. Lounge on pristine beaches or around the luxurious pools. For those seeking more activity, choose from optional experiences including sea kayaking through hidden lagoons and secret caves, indulging in a traditional Thai massage at the resort’s spa, or exploring nearby shops for last-minute souvenirs. Later, embark on a magical private excursion to the stunning Hong Island, where dramatic limestone formations rise from turquoise waters. Immerse yourself in the crystal-clear lagoons surrounding the island, with time to swim and snorkel. Then, sit back on a secluded beach and watch the sunset paint the sky in vibrant hues while enjoying a picnic dinner before returning by boat to our hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 13 | Wednesday, February 4 (B/D)

KRABI

Enjoy a day of complete relaxation on Krabi’s beautiful beaches, relax by the infinity pools, indulge in spa treatments, join a yoga class, or simply unwind on the pristine beach with a good book. For those feeling more adventurous, take advantage of the resort’s water sports facilities or explore the nearby mangrove forests. The day is yours to enjoy. This evening, gather with fellow BE travellers for a special farewell celebration dinner. Reminisce about the favourite moments we’ve shared and toast to the extraordinary experiences and friendships formed throughout our Thailand adventure.

Day 14 | Thursday, February 5 (B)

DEPARTURE HOME

After a final breakfast overlooking the Andaman Sea, we bid farewell to Thailand with a private group transfer to Krabi Airport. As we say our good-byes we’ll carry with us the beautiful memories of Thailand’s cultural treasures, remarkable landscapes, and the warm hospitality that makes this country truly the “Land of Smiles”.
