We are a women’s travel network that co-ordinates female-friendly tours and provides a forum for like-minded women to share travel experiences. Together the group enjoys amazing destinations, incredible food and countless laughs. Through the Broad Escapes website we can all stay in touch, share photos, travel information and plan future trips together.

Generally the women travelling with us average between 45-65 years old, but some women are younger and some older. They are empty-nesters, busy mothers, retirees, and professionals from all walks of life. Our travel buddies are single, married, partnered or widowed. Mothers and daughters, sisters, friends and co-workers sometimes travel together. Many women travel alone because they have different interests than their husbands. Single women prefer women-only travel because they don’t want to feel like a “third wheel,” as can happen on tours where couples travel together. Our women’s tour group provides a sense of camaraderie and special itineraries designed just for women. Broad Escapes gives you the opportunity to travel in a safe, well informed, female-friendly, first class environment. Relationships that are created on tour often result in life-long friendships.

Many women come alone. They feel absolutely welcome and safe.

No. If you would like to share a room with another woman traveller, you do not need to pay the single supplement. We will match you with a great roommate. The only exception is for smokers, who we ask to get a single smoking room. (or twin-bedded room if both roommates are smokers)

Since many Broad Escapes women choose to travel on their own, we offer a roommate matching service that allows you to save money and meet new travel companions. We tend to match by age, interests, travel experience and/or city and are always open to special requests. In addition there are single rooms available with a single supplement.

Again, the answer to this question is varied: Some women do choose to bring along a close friend or previous travel buddy; however, just as many women take advantage of our roommate-matching program and use this as an opportunity to meet new people who share a similar passion for travel and exploration.  With Broad Escapes, women arrive as independent travellers and leave with a number of great new friends—and potential future travel partners!

Depending on the destination the average number of women is approximately 20; however, there will be times when we will travel with smaller groups of 10-15 women.

Simply put, our group is comprised of women with a range of different backgrounds. Some are married, some are single, but we all share a common passion: travel
