We are a women’s travel network that co-ordinates female-friendly tours and provides a forum for like-minded women to share travel experiences. Together the group enjoys amazing destinations, incredible food and countless laughs. Through the Broad Escapes website we can all stay in touch, share photos, travel information and plan future trips together.
Generally the women travelling with us average between 45-65 years old, but some women are younger and some older. They are empty-nesters, busy mothers, retirees, and professionals from all walks of life. Our travel buddies are single, married, partnered or widowed. Mothers and daughters, sisters, friends and co-workers sometimes travel together. Many women travel alone because they have different interests than their husbands. Single women prefer women-only travel because they don’t want to feel like a “third wheel,” as can happen on tours where couples travel together. Our women’s tour group provides a sense of camaraderie and special itineraries designed just for women. Broad Escapes gives you the opportunity to travel in a safe, well informed, female-friendly, first class environment. Relationships that are created on tour often result in life-long friendships.
Many women come alone. They feel absolutely welcome and safe.
No. If you would like to share a room with another woman traveller, you do not need to pay the single supplement. We will match you with a great roommate. The only exception is for smokers, who we ask to get a single smoking room. (or twin-bedded room if both roommates are smokers)
Since many Broad Escapes women choose to travel on their own, we offer a roommate matching service that allows you to save money and meet new travel companions. We tend to match by age, interests, travel experience and/or city and are always open to special requests. In addition there are single rooms available with a single supplement.
Again, the answer to this question is varied: Some women do choose to bring along a close friend or previous travel buddy; however, just as many women take advantage of our roommate-matching program and use this as an opportunity to meet new people who share a similar passion for travel and exploration. With Broad Escapes, women arrive as independent travellers and leave with a number of great new friends—and potential future travel partners!
Depending on the destination the average number of women is approximately 20; however, there will be times when we will travel with smaller groups of 10-15 women.
Simply put, our group is comprised of women with a range of different backgrounds. Some are married, some are single, but we all share a common passion: travel

We are pleased to coordinate your airfare from the airport closest to your home. Let us know what city is most convenient for you and we will price the trip from your gateway. We make it easy for women across North America and beyond to travel with the ladies of Broad Escapes!
Yes, our tours are fully escorted by a Broad Escapes tour leader. As well, the tour groups are accompanied by English speaking professional tour guides at the destination.
Each trip is different but included in most ‘package pricing’ is: accommodation, private luxury motor coach, meals, sightseeing, entertainment, airport transfers, baggage handling and admissions.
Yes. Travel Insurance protects your investment in your trip. Travel insurance can be purchased at the time of booking your trip and we are pleased to make those arrangements for you. (if you have arranged your own travel insurance please provide documentation)

The easiest method of payment is credit card and all major credit cards are accepted.
Simply contact Broad Escapes by email at info@broadescapes.com or phone 1-800-265-7022 with your full name as it reads on your passport and your contact details. Your trip deposit is required at the time of booking your reservation. You can also visit our offices at Ellison Travel & Tours in Exeter, Goderich or North Vancouver.
It is best to arrive with clothing that will allow layering and provide protection from changing weather conditions. Most of your clothing should be comfortable clothes, but you may want to bring one dressier outfit suitable for going out to an evening concert or a formal restaurant. (Remember to bring comfortable shoes!) You will receive a Broad Escapes recommended packing list appropriate for each destination in your pre-departure package. You will receive ongoing tips and trip information right up to the time of departure. Our team will communicate with you on a regular basis. You will be provided with destination information, as well as answers to any questions you may have.
Most expenses are covered by the price of the trip. You will need money for some meals, tipping the local guides and drivers, as well as spending money for buying souvenirs, alcoholic beverages, spa services or for covering personal expenses such as laundry, mini bar or phone calls. Other items not covered in the price are: airfare, travel insurance and a single supplement if you are requesting a single room (optional)
Yes. We will advise you about the cost and make the additional reservations for the hotel. Since the hotels where we stay are located in prime locations, they tend to fill up early. Please contact us as soon as you know that you want to extend your stay. Payment for additional nights is required along with the deposit. Airport transfers are not included for early arrivals/late departures.
